S11 Dries van Noten

Yes, here we go! Paris fashion week has officially started and Dries van Noten just had his runway show on the first day! How iconic this man is. His designs so feminine, elegant, timeless and minimalistic this time. With recognizable sunglasses that cant be missed from your summer wardrobe upcoming season. Same goes for transparent blouses with lingerie and dress shirts and over sized dress jackets.

S11 Jil Sander

Minimal & Graphic look at Jil Sander. Some of the dresses maybe not so flattering and very very basic. The color blocking for next spring/summer is a must! And in love with the mega-stripe.

S11 Dolce & Gabbana

Lace Lace Lace Lace Lace, oh 81 looks of perfect, delicate, white and black, enchanting, romantic lace at Dolce & Gabbana.. anybody a wedding next summer?

S11 Dsquared

I love Dsquared. And not the sneakers and leather belts everyone in Amsterdam is walking around in. No, I'm talking about the seasonal catwalk shows, who are always surprising. For instance the neon colored rain capes and see-through plastic raincoats last winter. For next summer Dean and Dan presented a sexy yet 'nerdy' look. The big spectacles, and girly shorts and silks were a new turn on the normally so 'daring' show the men put up. Maybe a bit boring this time??

The summer of 2011

"Brights are the new black"

S11 Prada

Prada SS11

New Baroque is the term that is in my head when watching the newest collection of Prada. No one other then Miuccia Prada could transform the jazzy style of Ella Fitzgerald (fur, classic hair, big sunglasses, diva) in a such an innovative and modern form. The colors, patterns and details are so refreshing, summer is truly going to be a new breeze and Prada put itself on the map, again!

S11 D&G

images: style.com
As we now walk in big knitted vests and sweaters with snow clocks and reindeer's on them, according to D&G last seasons collection. Be aware to preserve and keep your flower-power print, candy pink sunglasses and rose corsages, because D&G tells us to walk around like a true sixties flowerbomb next summer!

Gucci SS11 Boots

S11 Gucci

For sure the summer of 2011 is one with a bold color palette. We already saw the splashes of color during New York and London Fashion Week, but now the 'real thing' has started at Milan fashion week where Gucci yesterday presented a bright and fun colored collection. They combine these brights with nude tints and some glamorous gold, we can see the seventies inspiration Frida Giannini had for the next season. This collection does nevertheless remind me a bit of Aummer 10's LV and Chloe collections, probably because of the tassels and 'bohemian' feeling, which I and with me probably thousands of others, did not expect from Gucci. Signature again though was the slick back hair and bright red lips refering back to sexy look the brand normally shows.

S11 3.1 Philip Lim

I love this brand. I love the transparent blouses, the layered skirts and tops and dresses, the simplicity and casual allure, yet so sophisticated and chic. Especially the small colors popping over the necklines of the knitted, satin and cotton tops.

S11 Ralph Lauren

Ralph Lauren at NYfashionweek, and my response is: "Will we forever be cherishing the bohemian cowgirl?" I love Ralph, don't get me wrong. If there is someone in this industry who has a consistent gorgeous line and created his own DNA and lifestyle around that, it of course is Ralph Lauren. As goes for Ralph, no-one minds a blond in a cashmere sweater, or like last season with a worker pants and lammy coat, right? But this time, I can't really say too much about his collection. It's an overload of white, an overload of tassels, overload of brown leather, flowers, lace, wild-west-necklines and shimmery bohemian maxi dresses. I can't take this for the upcoming summer season again, we have to come up with something better!

Carine Roitfeld wearing Uterque

Spotted this photo, front row at Rodarte Carine Roitfeld looks exhausted, but what is more interesting is that she is wearing a necklace by Uterque. The shop owned by the same company as Zara, Berschka and Pull & Bear. So if she does it, I don't have to feel guilty shopping there right? Anyway.. Uterque is a little bit more up-scale then Zara, and I would die to have their whole collection in my wardrobe. You can see it here.

Chanel soho

The Chanel shop in Soho has a new look and feel, earlier I gave you a little preview, but last night during fashion week it was re-opened. Star architect Peter Marino took care of this artistic yet chanel-black-and-white modern makeover. Of course there is no Chanel re-opening without a fabulous party: Sarah Jessica Parker at opening. photos: Chanel 2010, and check out the new soho-website.
